VANS Style 53 Velvet Shoes (paisley) women | Mercari。Vans Skate Style 53 in black velvet. This model is a modern, skate-ready take on the classic loafer silhouette. Key Features: Material: The upper is crafted from crushed black velvet, giving it a plush, textured look. Skate Functionality: Despite the loafer style, these are designed for skateboarding and include PopCush insoles (visible in the image) for impact protection and energy return. Durability: Features like DURACAP reinforced rubber underlays in high-wear areas and SickStick rubber outsoles are typical of the Vans Skate range to ensure they can withstand the rigors of skating. Versatility: The design is intended to bridge the gap between formal and casual, making it suitable for both a night out and a skate session. The consensus among users and reviewers is that the Vans Skate Style 53 (especially the velvet version) runs small and narrow. While some suggest they fit like classic Vans, many buyers recommend sizing up by at least half a size, and some even suggesting a full size for a more comfortable fit. Why They Fit Differently: Insole: These are part of the Skate Classics line, which features a much thicker PopCush insole. This extra cushioning provides great impact protection but takes up significant internal volume, making the shoe feel much tighter than non-skate versions. Upper Material: The velvet and internal reinforcements (like DURACAP) have very little stretch. Specifically, the leather loafer strap across the top is known to be quite stiff.
